Gymnastics is one of seven sports contested this week at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games. The event– held in Douglas, Isle of Man– includes athletes aged 14-18 from Commonwealth nations.
Fifty-four gymnasts will compete in the team, all-around and event finals. Gymnastics competition begins Friday September 9.
England is sending reigning British Junior Champion Rebecca Tunney and my Twitter friend @AbbieCaig. 2010 British Espoir Champion Angel Romaeo will represent Wales. Jack Neill, the son of my Twitter friend @jneill, is the sole male gymnast competing for Northern Ireland.
The 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games also includes athletics, badmiton, boxing, cycling, rugby 7′s and swimming.
