Dowell, Verniaiev Lead Mexican Open After Day One

After the first day of competition, American Brenna Dowell leads the women’s all around competition at the  Abierto Mexicano de Gimnasia with 29.100. Oleg Verniaiev of Ukraine is in the top spot in the men’s competition with 45.100. At this event, the all around finals are competed over two days. Today, the women performed two events (vault and uneven bars) and the men performed three (floor, pommel horse and still rings). The all around final concludes tomorrow, Saturday October 13 at 6pm CT. Watch live here.
